Some Tidbits from ALASKA

day last week we decided to take Sophie for a walk on the beach. She has not been that excited to go swimming , but on this particular day she ran right in to the cold water. She was having lots of fun!

We decided to walk out on a "peninsula" aka sand bar.
This was against my better judgement as the tide appeared to be coming in, but Dave thought it would be ok! Well after about 5 minutes we turned to go back. HMMMMM my dilemma was do I walk through the water with my shoes on or take the time to take my shoes off. I chose the latter and lucky for us it was only knee deep by the time we got across, but by the time we got back up to our truck....it had totally filled in the area where we had been walking. This resulted in almost getting grounded again! Good times.

Another thing we attended in Homer was the Scottish Highland games! These were fun to watch and cheer on the people! There were Pipers there but not as good as Ethan and Aldwin!
It was fun to see all the guys in kilts!

Another big thing in Homer has been the Eagles! We love them, We found a place that they are nesting just before you get to the spit and we try to check on them! following are some of the better pictures of the eagles I have been taking near the campground. They love to pose!

Spectacular birds!
Sophie doesn't see them but chases the seagulls wherever she sees them

We have also been following the
flowers in the gardens and on the sides of roads , they are truly beautiful!

Some random pics, a sunrise, the fishing hole during snagging, flowers eagles mountain views! The next few days are our last in Homer. We leave on July 1 and heading to Anchorage and beyond! We are having a great time and finally feel relaxed. Expect some company in the next few days! Cindy! Gary! Sarah!
Joanne is coming over the 4th of July and then Kathy in August and Korin Brian and Gavin! Wow its gonna be some fun times! Thats it for today!

Fathers day Pizza
Dave went fishing with Bud and John
